Job Description

Founded in 2008, StickerYou is an influential e-commerce trendsetter, using proprietary die-cut technology to create customized stickers, decals, iron-ons, badges, patches, labels, magnets and more in orders of one - to hundreds of thousands.Fueled by a creative and passionate team, StickerYou is dedicated to growing the most engaged and talented workforce in Toronto, Canada.The Role: Our new Production Manager will take charge of innovating the manufacturing workflow to increase our productivity and finding solutions to existing and new issues (as we add more capacity) so the team can produce high quality products at an increasing volume as our business keeps expanding. Reporting to the Director of Production, the Production Manager is responsible for tracking and improving operational statistics and ensuring the team has all the tools necessary to complete their goals to the best of their ability. Our ideal candidate is a detail oriented, organized problem solving leader who is able to apply critical thinking skills to a wide range of scenarios. This role relies heavily on a strong ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with the team and with other departments.What Youll Do: Operations and Process Management

  • Manage day to day activities of production floor operations ensuring that quality product is delivered on time to customers
  • Ensure SOPs are followed to achieve consistent quality and reduced waste/rework
  • Ensure production constraints/bottlenecks are removed, prioritize resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals
  • Troubleshoot production by collaborating with Team leads as well as other departments
  • Coordinate with technical resource manager and ensure that the down time on equipment is kept to a minimum
  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement amongst the employees
  • Analyze capacity, throughput and cost of goods data to mitigate issues or capitalize on opportunities for improvement
  • Advance manufacturing operations by creating, implementing and assessing automation, processes and policies so as to strive for continuous improvements
  • Identify areas for automation in workflow and process, assist in requirement documentation and work with other departments in development of automation solutions to decrease cost, reduce turnaround time and ensure quality products
Inventory Management
  • Maintain inventory levels for production department to ensure operations are not affected by overstocking/understocking
  • Collaborate with Procurement team to sustain production by forecasting, planning and estimating inventory levels required for production
  • Perform/oversight of inventory count and audit to maintain adequate inventory levels
Project Management
  • Responsible for execution/coordinating various projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with other departments in ensuring completion of assigned projects that meet time, quality scope objectives.
  • Champion and steer product/innovation projects in collaboration with other departments
People Management
  • Hire, supervise and train production employees to enable efficient production operations
  • Establish and maintain reporting structure for shift operations to ensure production activities are tracked and monitored
  • Evaluate and review employees’ performance using set goals and KPIs
  • Finalize weekly shift schedules based on order forecast, workload, available resources and balance the operations to meet departmental objectives
  • Allocate resources, supervise workforce, assign tasks/activities to ensure departmental KPIs for production operations are met
  • Communicate relevant information to the team understanding the effects timing and detail has on morale and productivity
Health and Safety
  • Instill a culture of Health and Safety on the team by ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed and the team is kept informed of the latest standards
  • Enforce safe and productive work behavior through policies and example
Who you are: We’re looking for an influencer who can hit the ground running that comes with a track record of relevant leadership experience. The core skills needed for this role include:
  • Production Analytics - creating and analyzing numerical data to properly position, forecast, and improve efficiency within production.
  • Leadership – leads with integrity and by example, and is accountable for their responsibilities while always striving to develop better and newer processes.
  • Communication - an approachable leader and enthusiastic team player who works well with and maintain cooperation between cross-functional teams.
  • Critical thinking - a detail-oriented and the ability to apply logic but also apply out of the box ideas when they make sense - a calculated risk taker!
  • A problem solver mentality - able to quickly grasp new concepts, terms, products and processes.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Graphic Design/Art/Printing Industry
  • 10 + years of equivalent work experience in a related field including at least 3 years in a management role.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel and Google Apps
  • High proficiency in PC/Windows operating systems (we are not a Mac shop)
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs
