The Production Support & Operations Manager is responsible for:What can you expect in this roleRedefining the Data Platforms & Engineering service approach to meet the growing customer demandOwning governance, risk and compliance across data platforms, including managing the risk register and associated remediation plansDeveloping a robust resourcing strategy that provides 24x7 support of critical data pipelinesInfluencing solution designs to consider the needs of the Production Support teamCommunicating incident impact and remediation plans to the user communityOverseeing operations across the data platforms and understanding upstream and downstream dependenciesEstablishing best practices and standards that align with Economical’s goalsInteracting across technology teams, control functions and business areas.Communicate incident impacts and resolutions with a broad stakeholder community including senior business leaders.Ensure that risk control framework is upheld (production gating, change management processes, audit findings)Accountability for incident management, root cause analysis and remediation plans.Represent data platforms at service and incident management forumsRun a service focused shop with the goal of ensuring critical processes meet SLAs and tickets are closed within SLAsEnsure scheduled changes take place with proper testing, monitoring and implementation, at minimal business risk.Monitor service levels, set targets, take action.Ensures operations training documentation is current and readily available.Provide coaching, development, succession, recruitment, resource management, team leadership, input into performance and development plans.What do you bring to the rolePassion for service excellence, risk and controlBig ideas and thought leadership on how to grow a service minded cultureA big voice and the ability to influence solution designs to ensure ops and support are represented in everything we doEffective communication skills – occasionally things go wrong and we need a strong communicator who can distill complex scenarios into clear and concise messages for a broad audience, including senior leaders.Past experience in a similar capacity or an interesting story that bridges that gapExperience supporting multi-generational technologies from databases on mainframe to Hadoop ecosystems to cloud service providers.Experience with diverse data technologies such as data integration (batch platforms), data repositories, reporting/data viz, analytical frameworksComfortable in a rapid paced, ever-changing environment.
