This is a multi-year, multi-phase project that involves the construction of two new facilities: an administrative office building known as the Patient Support Centre (PSC) and a clinical care building known as the Patient Care Centre (PCC). Along with the construction of these two new buildings, The Early Works (EW) phases of the project include renovation, infrastructure, and demolition projects and the complete renovation and expansion of the Burton Wing.While the new and renovated facilities represent the physical aspect of the change, Project Horizon represents major transformational efforts at SickKids, including: the transformation of our workplace and culture to support contemporary workplace practices; a clinical transformation to improve and modernize the way we deliver care as part of a paediatric health system; support for the decanting strategy and renovations of the campus; and a patient and family-centred engagement approach underlying this transformation of SickKids. Medical Administration and Corporate Services staff will have the space, tools, and technology to enhance productivity, improve engagement, and inspire innovation.SickKids is seeking an enthusiastic and seasoned Project Coordinator with well-rounded organizational skills and experience in hospital redevelopment operational readiness to successfully support the planning and execution, and smooth transition for each of the three phases of campus redevelopment.Role ExpectationsThis is a permanent fulltime (1.0 FTE) role, and will report into the Director, Change Engagement and Workplace Experience. After successful SickKids’ move-in to the Patient Support Centre, this role will report into another phase of redevelopment under the Director, Operational Readiness.The Project Coordinator will support the Operational Readiness activities throughout the development and progression of Project Horizon from conception to final occupancy, and post-occupancy support by working closely with Sr. Project Manager, Operational Readiness and Transition Planning and other members of the project team.The role of Project Coordinator will require knowledge and experience in hospital redevelopment processes, change engagement, move planning and coordination with proven interpersonal skills, ambition, drive, and time management skills.The Project Coordinator will also have an opportunity to manage minor projects/tasks depending on scale and complexity, e.g., coordination and analysis of surveys, supporting focus groups and simulation activities, and managing schedules for site walkthroughs, training and orientation and move, etc.The Project Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Project Horizon teams, stakeholders, consultants, and other partner departments as required to support and be accountable to maintain project documents (e.g., meeting minutes, project materials, presentations, workflow diagrams, etc.).
