You will manage teams working to help our clients address their most complex challenges and accelerate achievement of business objectives by assessing current operating models and implementing leading edge solutions leveraging enabling technologies to meet the ever-increasing needs of internal and external stakeholders.Why we need you: Together with our substantial investments in functional and technology expertise, and learning resources available to our advisory professionals, you will be part of the team that delivers fit for purpose Finance optimization advisory services to our clients and their stakeholders.Your key responsibilitiesAs a Project Manager, you will provide project discipline and governance support to our project teams working with our clients to achieve their potential in acquisitions, divestitures, process optimization or technology implementation projects within their Finance functions. Your expertise will guide our team and our clients’ finance executives in implementing effective project management frameworks to enable their large transformational change programs, ensuring that they deliver anticipated benefits and outcomes on time and on budget. You will partner with other members of the engagement team covering all aspects of delivery, including process improvement, technology implementation and change management. Ability to travel for project work across Canada is required.Skills and attributes for success

  • Responsible for managing projects and programs covering end-to-end Finance transformations for clients. Work with teams that are geographically dispersed and comprised all disciplines required to deliver process improvement and technology engagements for our clients’ Finance organizations, including process design consultants, technology architects, business analysts, application engineers & change management professionals.
  • Successfully execute projects to agreed time, scope, budget, and quality including developing objectives and plans to deliver on the business case benefits, budget, and timelines.
  • Manage project work and resources to enable successful and timely completion of the project including performing stage gate and quality assurance reviews across all aspects of the client organization and business sponsors
  • Perform the full lifecycle of project management activities based upon EY’s project management methodology:
    • Manage all project activities, including resourcing, objectives, scope, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and functional and technical requirements
    • Track project progress to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, meeting business requirements and in compliance with project management methodologies and standards
    • Plan, monitor, and manage change through formal change management processes and stakeholder/customer relationship management including reporting on variances to the approved project baseline and managing the approval or mitigation of these as appropriate
    • Perform regular project status reporting including reporting on schedule, budget, resources, scope, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, team, stakeholders, and benefits
    • Manage expectations of all project stakeholders, including any project related vendors, third party resources, or delivery managers
    • Communicate with project teams, management, clients, and potentially external stakeholders including implementing and working through defined governance processes
    • Proactively identify risks and issues on projects and leading teams to develop risk and issue management plans
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A Bachelor’s and/or post graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer/Technology Engineering, or Business/Commerce equivalent
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is required
  • Certification/Designation in Business or Accounting (e.g. CPA) is preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of core Finance and Accounting functions performed within an organization
  • 7+ years of project management of complex business or technology projects with a focus on implementations in a large, cross-organizational environment. Experience must include projects covering core Finance functions / processes / systems.
  • Demonstrated client focus including evaluating decisions from the client’s perspective; building strong client relationships and partnering to help fulfil client needs
  • Experience in managing end-to-end lifecycle of system implementation projects from Business case through to Deployment and post go-live stabilization for Finance modules of ERP solutions (e.g., Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics) or related Finance systems
  • Experience managing projects using Waterfall, Agile (Scrum) and hybrid methodology approaches
  • Experience managing relationships with Finance Software vendors / system implementors
  • Experience managing diverse / multi-jurisdictional project teams
  • Experience with industry standard Business Analysis tools, planning applications including Microsoft Project, standards, and techniques
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation
  • Experience communicating and managing relationships at senior (VP / C-suite) levels of an organization
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
