This role involves collaborating with Financial Analysts to craft cutting-edge front office applications, developing systems that enhance alpha generation, leverage borrowing markets, and optimize the firm #39;s balance sheet. You #39;ll work within a dynamic team environment, addressing business requirements throughout the entire development cycle, from requirements and architecture to implementation, testing, and release. Additionally, you #39;ll use various sources of internal and external Portfolio Finance data to create quantitative metrics for decision-making in Portfolio Finance. Striking a balance between feasibility, stability, scalability, and time-to-market is crucial when delivering solutions.Key Technologies in Use:Utilizing Python for financial tools and processesCrafting JavaScript-based front-end applicationsEmploying Docker containerizationManaging data storage with SQL, MongoDB, and RedisOperating on both Linux and Windows OS platformsQualifications and Prerequisites:A minimum of 3 years of backend development experience with a focus on PythonA Bachelor #39;s degree in computer science or a closely related fieldProven experience in designing and building backend applications from the ground upExpertise in code optimization and performance enhancementProficiency in MSSQL, with a specific focus on query building, table design, and performance optimizationA comprehensive understanding of application development, including authentication, API integration, the build process, testing, validation, and state managementFamiliarity with source code control, with a preference for Git experienceExceptional communication skillsA strong desire to learn and take initiativeAnalytical skills for troubleshooting and problem-solvingEffective documentation skills for clear and concise representation of ideas, requirements, and issuesDesirable Experience:Hands-on experience in developing Restful APIsPrevious involvement in creating front-end applications, especially with JavaScript and the React frameworkFamiliarity with PostgreSQL or other relational database technologiesExposure to Equity Financing systems is a significant advantageExperience working with financial market data from sources like Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar platformsFamiliarity with the hedge fund industry or other financial instruments/software, including research, risk management, portfolio accounting, reconciliation, and order management.
