Job Description

Job SummaryWe are currently looking for a Quality Systems & Compliance Manager to join our team at our Hamilton Kent plant in Toronto and Mississauga. The incumbent will be reporting to the Director of Innovation. The candidate would be responsible for ensuring compliance at each Hamilton Kent plants according to the ISO 9001-2015 standard and ACPA Qcast requirements. Moreover, this person will be responsible for scheduling and conducting all internal and external audits as well as working closely with functional departments and key stakeholders to strengthen and improve quality systems and drive efficient and effective compliance to the QMS requirements.Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintain a QMS certified to ISO 9001-2015 at Hamilton Kent Inc. and Hamilton Kent LLC locations.
  • Ensure all procedures & policies are adhered to requirements of ISO 9001 standard and ACPA Qcast certification.
  • Organize, co-ordinate and conduct internal quality system audits as Lead auditor and follow up with the corrective action results from audit findings.
  • Participate in various audit support roles across the business unit during External Quality System audits and manage corrective action result from external audits.
  • Develop and execute inspection readiness strategy for audits (Internal Quality Audits, Regulatory Audits, ISO Notified Bodies) across all Hamilton Kent locations.
  • Coordinate planning activities including actions to address risks and opportunities, planning to achieve quality objectives and planning of changes with process owners. Maintain the action logs to address risks and opportunities, quality objective plan and organization context files.
  • Work with area management to address audit findings, drive opportunities for improvement and address potential gaps/preventive actions.
  • General product certifications including certification for shipment, monthly certification or as per customer’s request.
  • Work on product certification with certification bodies, e.g. NSF, UL, etc.
  • Provide support for Plant Quality.
RequirementsSkills & Qualifications
  • ISO9001 General and Auditor Certified is a must.
  • Completion of University degree, preferably in Engineering or Technically equivalent from a community college. ASQ / CQE designation preferred.
  • Over 5 years experience in a related manufacturing environment in the QA Department
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality control procedures and measuring skills.
  • Knowledge and skilled in certification process.
  • At least 5 years successful experience in a QA Engineer or QA leadership position.
  • Have good working knowledge of “Microsoft Office Excel & Word”.
WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical environment is minimal as incumbent will spend considerable time in an office environment and long time of sitting.
