You will be involved in solving many challenging problems in the areas of Financial Engineering and Mathematical Finance, e.g.:

  • Option Pricing
  • Valuation of Alternative Assets
  • Climate Risk Scenario Generation
  • Multifactor Risk Models
  • Credit Risk
  • Sentiment Analysis
  • Digital asset valuation and risk modeling
  • Systemic Risk, etc.
Your success will be based on ability to work with the Quantitative Research Group colleagues to propose valuation and risk methodologies across a wide spectrum of risk related topics.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Researching and writing internal papers
  • Producing whitepapers
  • Creating prototypes to test new ideas and models
  • Delivering presentations
  • Collaborating with other teams to productize research ideas.
Desired Skills:The ideal candidate is a bright, experienced, technical and entrepreneurial individual who is familiar with Mathematical Finance and who has prior experience in financial software development.The ideal candidate possesses the following skills and competencies:
  • Expert Level Python or R. Proficiency in C++ in Unix environment is a plus.
  • Experience in managing large datasets.
  • Understanding of various software technologies (parallel processes, distributed systems, persistence, cloud computing).
  • Solid mathematical background (Probability, Statistics, Stochastic Processes, Financial Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Optimization)
  • Solid statistical and computational background, e.g., machine learning, data mining.
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to abstract and formalize problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (much of the work requires transfer knowledge with other team members, presentations, whitepapers, as well as communication with clients).
  • Learning focused and enthusiastic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of finance, banking systems and/or risk management is an asset.
Education:Advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematical Finance or equivalent. PhD level in any of these areas is welcomed.Work Experience:Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field. Working experience in financial industry is certainly an asset.Preferred location:Toronto CA, Austin TX, New York NY, Boston MA, London UK.
