Job Description

Job SummaryUnder general supervision, develop and executive sales activities in the Business Unit ensuring the delivery of sales and marketing targets and develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners.Job QualificationsRequired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4 or more years of experience in the insurance sales or market-facing area
OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree with 4 or more years of experience in the insurance sales or market-facing area
OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 or more years of experience in the insurance sales or market-facing area
AND
  • Experience building and managing relationships externally and internally and meeting sales, retention and profitability goals
  • Experience identifying business trends, changes in market conditions and competitor activity
Preferred:
  • Experience in Accident & Health, leisure travel, or voluntary benefits
  • Experience in distribution and insurance product sales and services strategy development
  • Market and distribution experience in the insurance industry
  • Experience analyzing financial and performance metrics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities
  • Actively, manage and develop new and or existing distribution partner relationships.
  • Responsible for delivery of own sales and business performance targets set for distribution partners.
  • Works to build, develop and manage relationships to promote the organization´s propositions, and implement distributors’ terms of business with the organization including negotiation, new offer and closures and terminations where required.
  • Investigate and assess moderately complex distributor queries or service requests and determine an appropriate course of action.
  • Evaluate distribution relationships in order to drive strategy, maximum new business and retention.
  • Complete evaluation of panel in order to drive maximum penetration/profit.
  • Identify and deliver appropriate marketing, sales campaigns and initiatives across panel, tailoring marketing and sales campaigns for specific scenario.
  • Business Travel, as required
  • Extended Hours during Peak Periods, as required
  • Regular Predictable Attendance
  • Visibility in the Office, as required
Job Functions

  • Make contact with all brokers on panel to educate and push new initiatives.
  • Implement the Zurich distribution strategy and objectives through all applicable distributor relationships.
  • Gather feedback on market intelligence/activity. Carry out presentations and sales training for new product and proposition launches.
Business Accountabilities
  • Assist in identifying opportunities through sales disciplines and steer business to deliver sales against profitability targets and quality measures.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other functions (e.g. Underwriting, Marketing, Operations) to ensure sales campaigns and initiatives are executed effectively.
  • Track own financial performance against annual financial and operational targets set in own area to ensure these are met.
  • Fully adhere to the standard sales approaches and tools and adopt agreed format for pipeline management and contribute to the development of Sales & Distribution practices as appropriate in order to drive continual improvement in sales effectiveness.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of risk and compliance policies and procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the standards of behavior and in accordance with policy.
  • Ensure delivery of good customer outcomes day to day across all elements of individual sales performance.
