Job Description

Position SummaryWe are looking for a competent Construction Foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction/ renovations sites. As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person for the completion of a project.Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans (ie-make sure things are going according to planned ie- if it takes 2 hours to demolish something, you need to make sure the workers get it done in 2 hours using work smarter not harder solutions)
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate ( make sure everyone has what they need at start of day according to the plans for the day and that everyone is equipped with the needed tools in working condition)
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met ( make sure everyone is in correct gear and working properly)
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment ( must be knowledgeable on the heavy equipment used in everyday contracting / construction)
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget ( if we estimate 2 gallons of paint to do the trick and you can utilize only one somehow ( it’s possible) you are doing the job right)
  • Resolve problems when they arise
  • Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.( let the managers know if tasks are completed earlier than anticipated)
Requirements
  • Proven experience as construction foreman
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OOSH guidelines
  • Ability to read drawings/blueprints ✅✅✅
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Aptitude in math
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Standing and walking around the project site;
  • Field environment and subject to all weather conditions
