The new BARLO MS Centre is a state-of-the-art facility designed to offer coordinated care and research for patients living with MS. It is the largest multiple sclerosis centre in Canada and is home to internationally renowned MS clinicians and researchers.The MS Clinical Trials team is currently looking for a Research Coordinator II. In this position the individual will perform a variety of research activities which could include assisting with study administration, adhering to research protocol and working with other study team members to carry out various aspects of conducting a clinical trial.Duties & Responsibilities:Overseeing the collection and transcription of study-related data and/or reviewing dataAssisting investigators in the initiation of new researchAssisting investigator in the interpretation and implementation of study protocolsPreparing REB submissions relative to the initiation and conduct of individual studiesDesigning consent forms and revisionsDesign of source documents, patient education materials, etc.Represent St. Michael’s Hospital at study initiation meetingsConducting interviews with research participants using standardized questionnairesCollecting data via phone calls, interviewsAdministration of the Letter of Information and Consent Form to study participantsEducating participants as required re: treatment schedule and/or the use of data collection toolsProcessing and shipping of laboratory samples to a centralized laboratory (training provided)Interacting with sponsoring agencies regarding requests for clarifications of data and/or assisting monitors during site visitsInteracting with various departments such as pharmacy, laboratories, medical records, etc.Ensuring appropriate regulations are adhered to in the conduct of researchPresent research related information including written study reports where necessaryQualificationsMinimum Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science field (preferably with 5 years related research experience). Preferably Master’s Degree (with 3 years related research experience)Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skillsSuperior organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workloadProfessionalism and self-motivationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood personal and program time/detail management skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamAs a condition of employment, all external hires will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination or documentation unless a valid accommodation under the Ontario Human Rights Code exists.
