DescriptionProvides project management on large scale, complex, high profile and high-risk network-security focused deployment and migration projects for OPS I amp;IT initiatives.Ensures project deliverables meet clients business requirements on time, scope, and budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with OPS project management methodologies and frameworks.Works closely with internal OPS teams and vendors to ensure the successful acceptance, timely execution, and day-2 supportability and operability of all project changes and deliverables.In this role the Senior Project Manager will:

• Provide senior project management oversight and support for cyber security platforms that are currently being deployed and rolled out within the OPS over 2024-25 fiscal year.
• In addition, to lead and provide project management support for smaller security-focused projects, initiatives or iterative improvements as required based on need and capacity throughout the year.
• Provide the resource capacity required to lead:
  • Palo Alto Prisma Access, Always on VPN and Secure Service Edge related projects or sprints.
  • Other Network security and firewall related migration and improvement related projects and initiatives

In this role the Senior Project Manager will:· Provide senior project management oversight and support for cyber security platforms that are currently being deployed and rolled out within the OPS over 2024-25 fiscal year.· In addition, to lead and provide project management support for smaller security-focused projects, initiatives or iterative improvements as required based on need and capacity throughout the year.· Provide the resource capacity required to lead:o Palo Alto Prisma Access, Always on VPN and Secure Service Edge related projects or sprints.o Other Network security and firewall related migration and improvement related projects and initiativesGeneral Skills:· Gathers and develops requirements and works with project stakeholders and ITS project managers to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.· Experience developing and managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope.· Ability to promote I amp;IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies.· Demonstrated experience directing project teams to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards.· Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project processes and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures.· Ability to clarify roles and responsibilities and set task/deliverable/performance expectations for project team members.· Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed.· Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.· Establishes and participates in steering committee and stakeholder forums.· Provides, project, program, and/or portfolio reporting to multi-stakeholders at senior executive levels.· Uses appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects concept, definition, planning, implementation, and close-out.· Promotes OPS I amp;IT standards and best practices for project management to facilitate control of system quality, adherence to standard methodology and the control of the use of I amp;IT resources.Desirable Skills:· Knowledge and understanding of Project Managements Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge· Demonstrated track record in leading large-scale network security deployment and migration projects.· Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.· Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.· Experience managing and coordinating project monitoring, anticipates and troubleshoots issues, provides ongoing expertise, resolves problems, and provides project effectiveness.· Ability to identify conflict between project and functional areas and develops responses to successfully address conflict.· Ability to handle client relationships to manage expectations, provides updates as required, identifies potential conflicts between project and functional areas.SkillsExperience and Skill Set RequirementsNetwork Security experience: candidate to demonstrate advanced experience managing enterprise scale network security projects and deep understanding of network security technologies (40%):· Enterprise VPN and Remote Access Solutions (Palo Alto Prisma Access - Preferred) (10%)· Zero Trust Network Access implementation across an enterprise network (10%)· Network Security Enhancements: example, upgrading and consolidating legacy firewall to Next Gen Firewall, firewall policy optimization. (10%)· Cloud Security Integration, example implementation of Web Application Firewall and Firewall Policy Manager (10%)Project Management skills candidate to demonstrate complex project management skills, and the ability to mitigate project risks in large-scale environments (60%)
