S.T.Y.L.E. Team Lead Job Description / Expectations***COVID-19: In light of the global response to COVID-19 and in observance of government and public health related guidance, LDATD would like to confirm our commitment to continued service delivery while balancing the health, safety and well-being of all our clients, participants, volunteers and employees. Candidates must be available to work in-person.SummaryThe S.T.Y.L.E. (Skills Training for Youth through Learning and Education) is an academic, recreational, life and social skills development after-school program designed to support youth attending schools in neighbourhood improvement areas.Program runs in high schools across the GTA. Potential locations include Scarborough, Etobicoke, North York, Toronto.The Learning Disabilities Association of Toronto is recruiting multiple part-time Team Leads to join our STYLE team. Programs run weekly Tuesday-Thursday from 3-5:30pm. Successful candidates must be available to work on those three days for In-person program delivery.Team Lead specific duties:

  • Working with Youth Facilitators to create the monthly program calendar/activity plans** for allocated program sites and uploading them to Google Drive folders
  • Spending monthly food budget and distributing snacks and food items to allocated schools each week Reporting on monthly attendance, budget, safety checks and evaluations for allocated schools
  • Covering Youth Facilitator absences at program sites when required
  • Attending monthly team lead meetings and submitting monthly program documents (food receipts, attendance sheets, time sheets, safety checks, consent forms, etc.)
  • Attending mandatory training sessions throughout the school year
**All program workers are involved in program planning, facilitation, tutoring and behaviour management.Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Child and Youth Social Work/Recreation Management
  • Interest and experience creating programming and programs for youth (recreation/tutoring/healthy living/wellness)
  • Ability to work independently within a team setting
  • Ability to supervise staff across program sites on weekly basis
  • Sound understanding of the academic and social issues facing youth with Learning Disabilities
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and newcomer youth with an ability to engage, empower and educate
  • Self-starter, demonstrated creativity and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in outreach, community development and/or marketing of program(s) and services
  • Ability to perform and document routine inspections and cleaning procedures as per agencies COVID guidelines
  • HIGH FIVE, Principles of Healthy Child Development
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Food Handler Certificate
  • Successful police reference clearance with VPS or willing to complete
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with regular access to a reliable vehicle
