Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student Systems; approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications; and the Universitys M365 platform.Your opportunity:In this position, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solutions to the University. Through your efforts, you will help support and modernize the University’s core administrative management systems to meet current and emerging needs of the organization.Reporting into the Manager, DevOps, and with general direction from the SAP Solution Architect, the SAP Basis Support and Build Coordinator designs, develops, configures, tests, implements, monitors and troubleshoots the University’s highly complex SAP S/4 HANA platform and its associated systems and technologies such as HANA, SAP FIORI, SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Solution Manager, SAP PI/PO SAP Content Server. The incumbent participates in the planning and installation of production and non-production hardware and software changes; works to resolve hardware and software issues; helps design and implement backup and disaster recovery processes; monitors and ensures performance and integrity of the SAPsystems and databases; and acts as a project leader and/or technical lead as required.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning new releases and versions of computing operating systems for the SAP S/4 HANA platform and its associated systems and technologies such as HANA, SAP UI technologies (FIORI, SAP Enterprise Portal), SAP PI/PO, SAP Content Server, SAP Solution Manager
  • Modifying highly complex production and non-production subsystems that comprise the SAP environment
  • Developing and updating architectural framework for highly complex and confidential university-wide databases
  • Analyzing problems and applying fixes to the non-production and production environments
  • Designing, testing and documenting system and data recovery routines
  • Leading and planning IT projects
  • Optimizing the capacity, reliability and performance of highly technical and complex enterprise level databases
  • Serving as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialists
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years experience in detailed SAP Basis Administration, which includes at least two years of S/4 HANA administration
  • Experience in installing support packs, add-ons, kernel upgrades, OSS Notes, executing backups/recovery, system refreshes and troubleshooting, as well as database administration, conducting failover of production systems, and monitoring and performance tuning of SAP systems
  • Experience maintaining multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment in a large, complex organization
  • Hands-on responsibility for HANA System Monitoring, HANA Install & Config, and Health Checks
  • Working experience and exposure to public cloud (preferably Azure)
  • Hands on experience with SUSE OS
  • Strong working knowledge of networks and network protocols
  • Expertise with SAP Configuration and Basis System Administration
  • Strong SAP HANA and S/4 HANA skills
  • Skilled with SAP Solution Manager setup and configuration
  • Skilled in supporting SAP UI technologies like SAP FIORI, SAP Enterprise Portal
  • Skilled in supporting SAP Systems like SAP PI/PO, SAP Content Server
  • Hands-on knowledge with SAP Security, SAP Single Sign-On
  • Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage urgent and conflicting priorities and deadlines
