Job Description

An established player in the real estate and property management industry is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This role offers strong exposure to both financial reporting and cross-functional collaboration, and is ideal for professionals with a solid foundation in full-cycle accounting and stakeholder coordination.About the Role:Reporting into a senior finance leader, this position is responsible for managing general ledger processes, supporting audit and tax compliance, and acting as a liaison with internal teams and external partners to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with property managers and internal teams to review monthly financial results and ensure alignment across operational reporting
  • Manage the preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for a portfolio of entities, maintaining accuracy in general ledger activities
  • Oversee the consolidation and review of financial results submitted by subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate internal reporting
  • Support the annual audit process by coordinating with external auditors and compiling necessary financial documentation
  • Prepare and review tax filings including Canadian corporate and partnership returns (e.g., T2, T5), and assist in the preparation of year-end tax working papers
  • Monitor and ensure the timely processing of all tax payments, including corporate income, partnership, and commodity taxes
  • Participate in the review and analysis of year-end recovery chargebacks and operating budgets developed by property management teams
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and provide guidance or training to junior staff as needed
  • Maintain positive relationships with asset managers, investment partners, and other stakeholders to promote operational efficiency and financial transparency
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation or in progress is preferred
  • 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with exposure to multi-entity environments
  • Familiarity with real estate or property management industries is a strong asset
  • Deep understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including building and modifying complex spreadsheets and financial models
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize across multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to support effective stakeholder engagement
