Job Description

One of our prominent real estate clients is looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their team.Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, the position provides accounting support to the corporate Financial Reporting department.Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and Management #39;s Discussion and Analysis reports.
  • Perform initial reviews and roll-forward procedures for financial reporting documents and workbooks at quarter-end.
  • Collaborate with various departments to prepare supporting documentation and journal entries for quarter-end reporting.
  • Support accounting research, problem resolution, and analysis of disclosure implications related to significant transactions.
  • Analyze subsidiary financial statements and notes, providing variance explanations.
  • Aid in transaction analysis to evaluate accounting and business impacts.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives, including automation, and contribute to the development of junior staff.
  • Prepare and review legal entity financial statements for compliance and tax reporting purposes, and support the coordination of external auditor requests.
  • Generate variance analysis reports for auditors, and fulfill other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • 3-5 years of public accounting experience, preferably in the real estate or financial services industry.
  • Experience with public company financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of current accounting practices and principles (IFRS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze, develop, and recommend accounting policies and process improvements.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
