Job Description

Position: Senior Material PlannerLocation: Scarborough, ONDuration: PermanentJOB SUMMARY:The Sr. Material Planner is responsible for developing material plans that meet customer needs, optimizecapacity and efficiency, and minimize raw materials, work in process, and inventory levels.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Own the Material Planning Process through the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) tool to ensurematerial supply meets production needs and provide advice on potential issues.Run ad hoc short-term MRP scenarios as needed to support last-minute schedule changes andadvise on feasibility.Monitor and manage raw material (ingredients and packaging) days of supply, implementingstrategies to reduce inventory to optimal levels while increasing customer service.Create requisitions in SAP for raw materials/packaging provided by the customer.Periodically review raw materials purchase profiles to ensure purchase order accuracy and MRPeffectiveness.Place all required purchase orders (POs) and follow up with vendors to confirm delivery timing,quantity, and pricing to ensure support for the production schedule.Monitor the purchase order schedule and follow up with vendors on delivery timing and quantities.Monitor raw material conversions/discontinuations (phase-in/phase-outs) to ensure completedepletion and successful transitions.Advise the Supply Chain Manager of any material expiration risk and suggest mitigating actions toavoid material write-offs.Support or lead specific Supply Chain projects as directed.Perform other duties as assigned.Health and Safety:Conduct all job tasks in a safe and responsible manner.Demonstrate knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting/handling procedures.Participate in Health and Safety, GMP, and HACCP training as required.Report any accidents, incidents, or unsafe/hazardous conditions to the Lead hand/Supervisor.Report any damages to property and machinery to the Lead hand/Supervisor.Comply with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and workers #39; responsibilities as outlined in the OHSA(covered during orientation) and adhere to the companys Safety Rules, Good ManufacturingPractices, and HACCP Programs.QUALIFICATIONS:College Diploma in Supply Chain or Inventory Management (preferred).APICS qualifications Certified in Productionamp; Inventory Management (CPIM) or working towardscertification.5 years of experience in supply chain planning/scheduling.High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Previous experience with ERP systems.Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.Highly analytical and resourceful.Own safety shoes.
