Reporting to the Executive Superintendent, Field Services and as a member of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of an area of schools, as well as other system level duties, as assigned by the Director of Education. The Superintendent will provide effective leadership, and work proactively with the Board’s senior leadership team in executing the Board’s Multi Year Strategic Plan.Successful Applicants will possess:Ontario Supervisory Officer CertificateA minimum of 5 years’ experience as PrincipalDemonstrated commitment to Catholic EducationDemonstrated experience as an authentic, transparent, and accountable leader committed to student achievement and well-being and the principles of equityDemonstrated experience implementing Government of Ontario Legislation, the Education Statutes and Regulations of Ontario, Ministry of Education Guidelines, TCDSB Multi Year Strategic plans and Board Policies and proceduresExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsEvidence of working with Trustees and understanding their governance roleDemonstrated expertise in supervision and instructional leadership at the school levelDemonstrated evidence of working cooperatively with a range TCDSB departments including Human Resources, Legal Services, Equity, Special Services, Curriculum & Innovation, Safe Schools, and Nurturing Our Catholic Community, to name a fewAn ability to lead and support a wide range of stakeholders including staff, students, parents, and external representatives in a variety of modalitiesDesirable Attributes:The successful candidate will have the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to advance the TCDSB’s Multi Year Strategic Plan, and to support the following beliefs:in the worth and dignity of every personin the critical role that our Catholic schools play in promoting Gospel values, social justice, environmental responsibility, human solidarity and the common goodthat high standards and expectations foster greater achievementthat people thrive in a safe, healthy, and compassionate environmentthat teaching is responsive to individual needsthat teaching and learning should be rooted in research and evidencethat each of us shares a responsibility in creating collaborative communities of learningthat equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusivity are integral to the Catholic communitythat the 21st century fluencies of digital literacy, creativity, innovation, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration are essentialDiversity and Inclusion:Consistent with the TCDSB’s Employment Equity policy, the TCDSB is strongly committed to fostering a diverse workforce.
