If you have a passion for excellence, and would like to work for Corus Entertainment, we encourage you to apply.Division: Nelvana StudioLocation: Toronto, ON.About the Role:Nelvana Limited has an exciting opportunity for a Supervising Creative Producer in our Toronto office. Reporting directly to the Head of Development and Head of Production, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a number of new series and current productions in the studio.You’ll be working on things like:

  • Lead creative direction/showrun concept in every stage of production
  • Support executive story editor with overall direction of writing team
  • Work with creator to establish the show’s vision
  • Represent NELVANA in conferences/festivals
  • To support Development in sourcing new IP
  • Establish working relationship with broadcasters and ensure creative notes are being addressed
  • Responsible for overseeing and providing direction to Senior Producer and Producers
  • Responsible for driving creative with directors, creators, writers on development and production projects and when applicable rebuild production plans to meet new creative directions.
  • Establish and maintain major client relationships
  • Provide development support through strategic planning and take on specific development project
  • Ensuring productions deliver on time and on budget meeting and/or exceeding pre-established quality standards
  • Responsible to manage creative expectations to ensure they match up to locked budget
  • Maintaining strong relationships with co-production partners
  • Responsible for strategic process improvement and management. Ensure that systems work efficiently, productively and to everyone’s satisfaction
  • Involvement in early stages of development into physical production process to ensure smooth transition into Studio.
  • Supervise production relationship with Enterprise as it relates to supporting licensing & merchandizing initiatives.
  • Lead writer summits on current series and development summits on new projects.

  • Strong understanding of storytelling, scripting and content creation
  • Ability to lead creative teams from development to delivery
  • Experience in producing 3D animated series.
  • Experience in Animation production budgets
  • Intricate knowledge of animation production (development thru final deliveries)
  • Knowledge of Digital production process
  • Creative, respectful & collaborative
  • Participating in brand building strategies with Nelvana’s Enterprises team, from content creation across linear and non-linear production
  • Strong organizational skill and excellent communication skills
  • Integrity, respect, trust and spirited collaboration with Studio, Partners and Shared Services team.
  • Well-developed prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach that will enable the successful candidate to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity.
