We are looking for an exceptional claims leader to lead, coach, and mentor a team of property claims adjusters and appraisers. The Supervisor, Claims will promote and foster a collaborative and engaged work environment.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional customer serviceCoordinate and supervise daily activities of claims teamProvide guidance and leadership to staff and specialistsManage service levels by organizing, distributing, monitoring work flow and setting priorities to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity as guided by corporate policies, procedures and business plansConduct or contribute to employee development, and employee performance management through coaching and following up on the development of their team’s technical competencies,Conduct periodic review of claims files and coach team to strive for continuous improvement and development by setting and tracking individual and team performance objectivesProvide direction and leadership in areas such as: liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiations and establishing reserves for claimsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications5 + years of progressive claims adjusting experience in the insurance industry. Property claims adjusting experience a strong asset1+ years of leadership experience. Leadership experience in the insurance industry a strong assetCollege /University degree preferredChartered Insurance Professional Designation and a desire to continue relevant industry education (FCIP, etc.)Effective customer service skills including empathy and concern for our customersExcellent communication skills, both written and oralExcellent investigative and analytical skillsHighly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environmentExcellent knowledge of policy wordings all lines of business, corporate guidelines, policies and proceduresAbility to coach, guide, and positively motivate employeesExcellent knowledge of automobile, habitational, farm and commercial policiesExcellent knowledge of medical and legal terminologyDetail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entryExceptional advanced negotiation skillsWawanesa provides its employees with a respectful , challenging and rewarding environment where they can maximize their potential while contributing to the company’s goals.
