The Distillery Restaurants Corp., creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Archeo Trattoria, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (the Fermenting Cellar and The Distillery District - Loft) are seeking experienced and motivated Support Staff with a passion for creating a flawless dining experience every guest. The ideal candidate not only understands that exceptional guest service is at the heart of hospitality but that they are an ambassador to Toronto's unique food and beverage culture.Our Support Staff provide essential assistance to the Front of House team by inspecting all tables for the proper mise en place, cleanliness and completeness. They practice a high level of floor awareness and have exceptional knowledge of all food and beverage items. Support Staff help with food running as well as monitor food quality to ensure restaurant presentation standards.Please Note: You must already have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.The DRC Employee Perks include:In-house dining perksTeam building activities and eventsBold and lively work environmentsThe chance to work alongside an exceptional teamWhat you will be doing:Answering questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant functions and services when necessaryCommunicating with servers and hosts to maximize seating and ensure successInspecting all tables for proper mise en place, cleanliness and completenessPracticing a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as requiredAssisting with food running, ensuring that plates arrive at the proper guest (no auctioning off)Monitoring food quality and presentation standardsFollowing all food safety standards and systemsCommunicating to all servers any comments or information provided by guests to ensure a positive, memorable experienceLeading team by example to exhibit, encourage the DRC’s core valuesLearning and growing with a great restaurant company with a focus on our successful future and yours!What we would like you to bring to the restaurant:EXPERIENCE. Minimum one (1) year experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred but not required as training will be provided.A POSITIVE ATTITUDE. A smile means the same thing in every language.SOCIAL SKILLS. Customer service experience in a hospitality, retail and/or food and beverage environment is a strong asset.THE ABILITY TO MULTITASK. You juggle tasks with ease and make it look easy.PASSION FOR THE INDUSTRY. A business, food and beverage and/or hospitality degree/diploma is considered an asset. Exceptional relationship building and communication skills are also valued.CERTIFICATION.
