Using proven methods and tools, role is accountable for delivering excellent quality results, according to agreed timelines and within budget. role converts the high-level design to detail design specifications, identifies and documents the unit processes; role plans and executes the development, testing and validation activities to ensure that the results meet the design specifications - in partnership with the Technical Lead, the Test Lead, Business Analysts, Business Stakeholders, IT Development team members and Integration Architecture team members.As a member of the ECommerce team, you will support critical applications of database in the cloud. You are a hands-on expert in data modeling, data migration, performance optimization, troubleshoots database problems, provides data solutions and leads your team in development and managing complex cloud-based Azure environments. This role is the go-to that will partner closely with the cloud and database admin team to build and manage the database services environments on Azure, supporting development and operations teams across the SDLC.At Canadian Tire we work flexibility embracing ‘Hybrid’ whereby individuals utilize a combination of working at a CTC campus and or virtually in service of outcomes. You are a hands-on expert in data modeling, data migration, performance optimization, troubleshoots database problems, provides data solutions and leads your team in development and managing complex cloud-based Azure environments. This role is the go-to that will partner closely with the cloud and database admin team to build and manage the database services environments on Azure, supporting development and operations teams across the SDLC.

• Lead the database design & delivery of cloud-based solutions with a focus on microservices, and data integrations across Ecommerce
• Implementing cloud-based data solutions that well takes care of database performance, data security and high availability
• Provide practical instructions to multiple projects, agile squads in implementation
• Create and Review Data Solutions, SQL statements and stored procedures written by DBA/developers

What you bring

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
• 3+ years of technical experience working with cloud database services
• Strong experience working with storage and messaging services such as Azure Data factory, RDMS – Azure SQL, and NoSQL – Cosmos DB, Mongo DB, Redis
• Experience implementing data solutions with Azure is must
• Expert in developing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.)
• Expert networking fundamentals including VNETs, subnetting, NSGs, routing, firewalls, DNS
• At least one Azure Certification, preferably database related
• Experience interpreting and applying security best practices to create, harden and secure database
• Skillful in performance tuning for both operational database and data warehouse
• Communicate timelines, dependencies, constraints, and progress quickly and effectively
• Experience working in an Agile environment
