By placing the "humanist approach to technology" at the center of its strategy, the Talan Group is convinced that it is by serving people that technology multiplies its potential for society.Job DescriptionTalan Canada is growing and looking to strengthen its teams with a Technical Analyst - Cloud Oracle DB2 for the Toronto/Montreal office, able to work with clients in several industries.Hybrid work scheduleToronto/MontrealTechnical Analyst - Cloud Oracle DB2Your main objective as a Technical Analyst is to streamline our client migration journey for our prestigious clienteleAs a Technical Analyst, you will be responsible for helping guide our client migration and implement technical solutions to customers in an effective manner using industry best practices while enhancing customer experience.Responsibilities of the Technical Analyst include:

  • In this new, highly visible, role you will be: Interface with customers and leadership, drive collaboration between other core account groups (Sales, Support, IT and Data & Analytics), product teams, and operations teams.
  • Be an exemplary communicator both at the executive and project team level.
  • You should be passionate about delivering a great customer experience.
  • Work with a Senior Developer to implement, and maintain technical data delivery and analytics solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Process work requests for customer projects on a regular basis to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor system resources and job status to ensure timely completion of work requests.
  • Develop, implement and maintain system monitoring, job status, data quality and reporting framework.
  • Provide technical support on issues related to platform, data, boarding and testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and test case reviews.
  • Perform test cases and QA analysis on projects and other deliverables.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Demonstrated C++ programming proficiency.
  • Relational database architecture & design.
  • Understanding of version control best practices within a team development environment.
  • SQL skills including packages, stored procedures, indexing and query optimization.
  • Highly motivated to succeed, team player, fast learner with strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong character with unquestioned integrity, ownership of team performance and decision making.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner, with limited support and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Creative problem solving skills with a drive for continuous process improvement.
  • Unwavering attention to detail.
Required Skills:
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or related field with related work experience within software engineering or database management or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years in a customer facing role 2+ years handling complex, large enterprise scale, IT/technical projects Direct experience in implementing technical solutions.
  • Robust understanding of Agile and Lean methodology.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to effectively deliver information at the C-suite/VP level
  • Experience with project management organizational tools such as: Jira, Confluence and G Suite (Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar, Google+, Docs, Sheets, Slides) Trello and Atlassian product suites.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong OO background. Skill set experience to include NetBeans IDE, Mercury Quality Center, perl, XML and Unix messaging.
  • Experience with Oracle, DB2 and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience in developing and deploying large scale data centric solutions.
  • Experience in a high volume data processing environment with service availability.
  • Conceptual understanding of Cloud, Big data or Mainframe platform
  • Prior experience working in a technology sales/operations organization
Candidates must be local to Toronto/Montreal or open to relocate asap for this job opportunity.Additional Information
