This includes Supporting small to large development or maintenance projects (multiple projects - one application with multiple interfaces and/or third parties).What will you do

  • Provide support on new initiatives (small to large of varying complexity) and Improve services for clients and overall client experience to raise RBC competitiveness in the market. Research and analyzes business and system needs. Explore alternative options and recommends technology solutions and designs that meet sponsor needs.
  • Provide input into high level and detailed technical specifications for small to medium projects in accordance with PLC, security, and architecture documentation objectives. Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing and/or recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in the evaluation of third party vendor’s code deliveries as well as due diligence exercises. Participate in IP walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs and unit test plans.
  • Assist in the developing, coding, documenting and executing of unit testing, system integration and acceptance testing using different for this highly complexity ecosystem.
  • Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project. Develop a complete listing of all stakeholder that are required for any given implementation. Build contingency plans ensuring verification is performed. Manage joint development, testing, and plans and co-ordinates implementations.
  • Perform performance tuning to improve performance of overall multiple components of the ecosystem.
  • Provide on-call support of the DCP applications and weekend deployments
  • Participate in the evaluation of third party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises. Work closely with third party vendors. Take part in small to large group meetings for technical design, decision making, problem solving and task implementation.
  • Install and upgrade enterprise server / Middleware software from different vendor and platforms – Windows / Unix / WAS.
  • Investigation and troubleshooting of production problems on varies technology from the application to infrastructure layer.
  • Execute Application Production Resolution Procedures (PPRs) within the Pre-Production Eco-Systems.
  • Attend and participate in pre-production working sessions related problems in the environment.
Must-have:
  • Undergraduate degree in related technical discipline
  • 3-5 years related technical experience including:
    • Windows Server Experience
    • DB2/SQL and OCON Experience
    • UNIX(AIX) Experience
    • Basic knowledge of Java
  • Process knowledge including:
    • Different testing tools and design techniques
    • Agile mindset methodologies
    • Strong communication skill – both written and verbal
    • Experience with Jira
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Good planning, time management, documentation skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills
  • Proven experience in large projects or programs interfacing with multiple applications and/or third-parties
  • Experience with Java technologies such as: Spring, Spring Boot
  • Experience with DevOps (Experience(UCD,Jenkins,Nexus,GitHub)
  • IT Standards, Methodologies, audit and security requirements / compliance
Nice to have:
  • Mainframe(OS/390,JCL,Zeke) Experience
  • Dynatrace Experience
  • WebSphere Experience
  • Middleware technologies (ex. MQSeries/Kafka, Redis)
  • Understanding of Web technologies including: Javascript, CSS3, HTML 5, JQuery
  • Experience with Cloud technologies such as Openshift, S3 storage
  • Experience at a Bank or Financial Institution and related product/process knowledge
