Job Description

The Role:Lead the evolution of Rakuten Kobo’s Payment SystemsAs a leader in Rakuten Kobo’s R&D team, we’ll look to benefit from your diverse experience and perspective to guide the evolution of our payment platform from being part of our existing monolith application towards a microservice based one. This journey has just begun and there is a fantastic opportunity for you to lead this effort over the coming years.We can’t wait to bring you on board to join our team.In the role of Delivery Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing two Agile teams of developers and testers, 8 people in total, building highly available, .NET based applications
  • Mentoring & coaching of individuals & pro-actively seeking opportunities for their continued growth
  • Collaborate with Product team and stakeholders to take an initiative from conception to Production
  • Maximize delivery value taking in all considerations such as Business needs, System and code health and team’s capacity
  • Work with other delivery team leaders to ensure smooth cross-team collaboration on larger projects
The Skillset:To be successful in this role, you should have comparable experience or aptitude with the following:
  • Several years in a leadership role in a Software development team
  • Several years as a Software Developer or SDET working in the .NET Stack
  • Key tools and techniques such as Git, Azure DevOps , CI/CD, Automated testing
  • Solid understanding of databases technologies. Both SQL & NoSQL (ideally RavenDB )
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that facilitate intra and inter team collaboration
  • Experience in Ecommerce and payment systems is an advantage
