Reporting to the Head of Market Research and working in close collaboration with the global Investment team of Brookfield Infrastructure, you will support Brookfield in its investment decisions by conducting research and developing projections on:Macroeconomic issues and conditions in target geographies;Energy, Transportation, Digital infrastructure, including toll roads, ports, rail assets, transmission lines, gas pipeplines, and data centers;Commodities, including steel, iron ore, coal, crude, natural gas, and other non-fuel commoditiesResponsibilitiesLive Transaction SupportSupport all phases of a transaction’s life cycle, collaborating with internal functional partners and business group leads, as well as interfacing with external advisorsLead the market analysis / due diligence process for the “top-line”, including the modeling of revenue streams of a target, quickly identifying where additional research is neededDistill and condense key information from large amounts of data into easy-to-understand executive briefings and slides that support an investment decision or course of actionPrepare investment committee presentation materials and other documents such as Terms of Reference for external advisorsIndustry, Commodity, and Country OutlooksQuantify demand and supply drivers of key commodities, leveraging research from brokerage houses, management consultants, third-party data providers, and primary researchAnalyze industry cost curves, technological advancements, and competitive positioning of companies / assets in an industry, and evaluate how the interplay of these elements is likely to evolve over timeEvaluate the macroeconomic trajectory and political risk of a target market, as well as the potential impacts on portfolio assetsLead industry and market research to support the development of investment strategies or to identify potential transaction opportunitiesPrepare concise, executive briefings for senior management and co-investorsPortfolio Companies ResearchAs requested, support Brookfield senior management with strategic reviews of portfolio companiesAs requested, support management of portfolio companies with in-depth research on M&A processesQualifications & RequirementsUniversity education and 10+ years of relevant experience in equity research, private equity, investment banking, or management consultingIdeal candidate will have formal training in economics and possess a solid grasp of macroeconomic variables (economic growth, interest rates, FX, inflation, unemployment, etc.)Demonstrated ability to conduct research from a wide variety of primary and secondary sources, and in the process, develop a compelling thesis on the future performance of a target industry, commodity, or companyStrong ability to evaluate and quantify opportunities and risks of different business models, growth plans and projections of target companiesExcellent verbal and writing skills; experience crafting executive briefings for senior leadersSolid experience building financial models (project financing, corporate finance)Predisposition to explore and learn, acquire data, create and test hypotheses in different verticals across different industriesAbility to prioritize, share information efficiently, meet deadlines and deliver in a multi-project, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and multiple parallel assignmentsAbility to distill key information from extensive research; ability to argue, summarize and illustrate analyses in a presentation format; ability to make the complex, simpleVery strong writing, PowerPoint, and EXCEL skills. #LI-AS1At Brookfield, we care about your privacy and strive to protect Applicant Data throughout the recruitment process.
