Job Description

Financeit is a point-of-sale financing provider serving some of the largest home improvement and retail organizations in Canada. If such a workplace intrigues you, we hope you’ll join us.About the role:The Vice President of Treasury will support the CFO and will work closely with the executive, finance, risk, and operational teams. The successful candidate will lead financial planning and analysis activities relating to the Company’s debt facilities and cash flow to support the rapidly growing Financeit business. The role will be instrumental in optimizing the Company’s capital stack which will include launching a securitization program that will fuel the Company’s growth.What you’ll do:

  • Continue to enhance a best-in-class treasury team and function with continuous improvements in advance rates and reduction in borrowing costs that drive heightened levels of cash flow and return on equity
  • Assess and optimize current financing / funding relationships
  • Evaluate long term financing / funding strategies to facilitate the Company’s long term growth plans and optimize value
  • Expand upon the Company’s recent securitization offering and build a long-term securitization program including completion of the book’s credit rating, prospectus, and investor relations
  • Manage foreign currency and variable interest rate exposure implementing related hedging programs as required
  • Develop accurate and detailed cash flow models to optimize financing, advance rates and borrowing costs
  • Lead the long-term capital planning process and provide insightful recommendations
  • Design and implement strategies to optimize the Company’s financial position
  • Manage and enhance the Company’s relationships with the credit rating agencies, lenders and investors
  • Optimize current loan funding and settlement processes
  • Oversee and enhance related internal controls and processes
  • Direct cash management for the Company including forecasting, investment of excess funds, short-term borrowing, and cash flow management
  • Support the year-end external audit and quarterly review process
RequirementsWhat you’ll need to succeed:
  • A minimum of 10 years of financial and treasury experience including different debt and equity instruments, particularly securitization structures
  • Accounting designation (CPA CA or CMA, CFA) or MBA is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of financial services and ABS securitization
  • Strong people management and coaching skills
  • A keen eye for talent and a desire to build and retain a high performing team
  • Financially fluent but with a keen focus on the business – not just the numbers
  • Comfortable with a rapidly growing and dynamic environment
  • Able to manage competing priorities, meet deliverables while building relationships with colleagues
  • A high energy, collaborative thinker able to build consensus and cross functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple large complex projects
