Job Description

What is the OpportunityEntuitive is growing their Fire Engineering Team by seeking a suitable candidate in Canada who has a track record of successfully delivering building code compliance input on a range of building projects.The new Intermediate Code Consultant will fulfil several key technical roles at Entuitive. The successful individual is expected to be an independent leader, a subject matter expert in building code compliance and fire safety engineering practices, and will be client facing.You will be responsible for reviewing building plans for code compliance, preparing correspondence and technical reports, identifying opportunities for Alternative Solutions, and interfacing with the rest of the Fire Engineering Team who will provide detailed fire engineering support. This role will be part of the wider Fire Engineering Team at Entuitive and the candidate will initially focus on delivering projects and contributing to the growth of code consulting work. The individual will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture.RequirementsWhat will you do

What do you need to succeed
  • 5+ years of experience in building code compliance and providing input to performance-based Alternative Solutions in a consulting environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field, or Diploma in Architectural or Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
  • Registered as or working towards registration as a Professional Engineer or other professional designation such as BCIN Professional.
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulatory codes and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop performance-based solutions meeting the requirements of the regulations and achieving approvals.
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks, including with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities.
