We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Toronto. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to impactful projects across a wide range of sectors—including healthcare, institutional, residential, cultural, and recreational buildings. As an Intermediate Structural Engineer, you’ll play a vital technical role in structural design and project delivery, while also helping mentor junior engineers and collaborating closely with senior staff.   • Develop structural systems and perform analysis and design calculations for a variety of building types and materials, including concrete, steel, wood, and masonry.
  • Design key structural elements including framing systems, slabs, columns, foundations, and lateral systems.
  • Prepare and coordinate engineering drawings and specifications with BIM technologists and other project team members.
  • Integrate architectural, mechanical, and electrical documentation to ensure coordinated and efficient design solutions.
  • Conduct site visits and field reviews during construction, and support contract administration and construction-phase services.
  • Contribute to internal QA/QC processes including design checklists and peer reviews to ensure technical excellence.

  • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to support high-quality, integrated design solutions.
  • Attend coordination meetings with clients, architects, and consultants to resolve technical and interdisciplinary challenges.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and project correspondence.

  • Provide guidance to junior engineers on structural design, analysis tools, and project workflows.
  • Build leadership experience by contributing to internal knowledge-sharing and team development.

RequirementsWhat do you need to succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in structural engineering for buildings.
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Strong technical background in structural design with experience across various materials and building types.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, SAFE, ETABS, RAM) and familiarity with BIM and collaboration tools such as Revit, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of applicable building codes and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Interest or experience in sustainable design and embodied carbon is considered an asset.
