Job Description

Celebrating 63 years of BusinessWe Bring Food to Your Family’s Table!We are now hiring a Driver Trainer for our Trenton, Ontario terminal!Shift: Day Shift; Monday – Friday (Shift Time TBD)Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all required training and orientation of new and current drivers at the Trenton terminal. Includes
  • Canada-only and cross-border drivers.
  • Road test prospective drivers. Provide input to supervisor on hiring.
  • Train prospective Erb employees for upgrading of their licences and any required retraining. M.T.O. signing authority will be required
  • Check drivers’ licences with the M.T.O. on a regular basis.
  • Conduct safety meetings as required. Plan and research selected topics according to driver meeting schedule set out by supervisor. Ensure attendance is recorded
  • Assist in interviewing and screening prospective drivers and brokers with Supervisor.
  • Assist in log auditing and driver record maintenance in accordance with U.S. file requirements.
  • Coaching of DriveCam events with drivers based in Trenton. Maintain an overdue for coaching threshold of less than 10%.
  • Aid in recruitment functions that require Driver Services staff in attendance. This includes but is not limited to terminal
  • job fairs, industry truck shows.
  • Ensure supply of new driver material is adequate. Assemble when required.
  • Liaison to Terminal Manager with status updates on hiring and driver issues when the Driver Supervisor is absent.
  • Aid in the compliance of the driver files of TruckRight.
  • All other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as dealing with Operations staff, drivers, Driver Supervisor are essential.
  • Knowledge of trucking industry.
  • AZ/Class 1 license.
  • Willingness to advance educations.
  • Team player.
