Job Description

Drivers’ helper / Pitcher for locally routed waste removal truck wanted!This outdoor position is a day shift that is available Monday to Friday (Some Saturday work when Public holidays are involved). You will be responsible for safely riding on the back of the garbage truck and collecting yard waste/residential waste and recycling along designated routes in urban and rural communities. This waste is transported to landfills for disposal.The job is dirty and fast paced working as a driver’s helper on the garbage and recycling truck.$19 per hour

  • Responsible for curbside pickup of waste/recycling containers on the assigned route
  • Collect and dump refuse or recyclable materials from containers into trucks
  • Assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner
  • Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established company policies and contract obligations
  • The truck is a single stream front and side loader
Requirements
  • Hard working strong individual with excellent customer service oriented attitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Physically fit and able to keep pace with the requirements of the job
  • Previous work as a pitcher drivers helper, swamper, lumper or dock associate an asset
