Compass Minerals operates 12 production and packaging facilities with nearly 2,000 employees throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Visit compassminerals.com for more information about the company and its products.We are currently seeking a full-time Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team at our Unity Evaporation Plant site in Unity, Saskatchewan.Located in the western part of Saskatchewan, Compass Minerals #39; Unity mechanical evaporation plant is one of the company #39;s four mechanical evaporation plants. The plant produces and packages a wide variety of salt products including water conditioning salt, bulk salt, food-grade salt and salt for agriculture.How will you contribute to the team- Uses and maintains tools and equipment, performs general maintenance and inspections, organizes work, and performs routine trade activities- Diagnoses and repair engines and engine support systems- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic systems- Diagnose and repair drive train systems- Diagnose and repair steering, suspension, brake systems, wheel assemblies, and undercarriage- Diagnose and repair electrical systems and electronic vehicle management systems- Diagnose and repair environmental control systems- Diagnose and repair structural components, accessories and attachments- Ability to understand manufacturer #39;s operating instruction books, follow complex oral and/or written instructions- Clear understanding to accurately perform safety and regulatory responsibilities (i.e. equipment, safe work procedures, etc.)- Ability to demonstrate leadership in troubleshooting, repair and resolve operational issues- Cleaning duties as requiredQualificationsWhat should you bring to the role- Journeyperson certificate for Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy Duty Agriculture Mechanic- Valid Driver #39;s License- Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word- Experience in E1/JD Edwards ERP is an asset.- Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces.- Must be able to work in hot temperatures and climb steps as required- 10 hour work days, overtime as required- Experience with turbine and generator operating in a cogeneration environment, in a process-related industry, be knowledgeable about process equipment and control systems, and be flexible to different task assignments.- Ability to multi-task, have a high sense of urgency with regards to operational requirements and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skillsWhat will you like about us- C* *ompensation and Benefits : We offer a competitive compensation package along with medical, dental, vision, disability, employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, and much more.- Rest and Relaxation: Paid vacation, paid sick and personal floating days.- Prepare for your Future: Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company match and contribution.- Shared Core Values : Our employees share five Core Values in all we do: Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Value Creation and High Performance.- Safety : We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive work environment as we strive toward Zero Harm for our employees, customers and communities.- Meaningful Work : What sets us apart is the work we do impacts daily lives - and every employee contributes.
