Facilitates accuracy in cash balancing and acts as an audit function to cash procedures. Schedules and performs all cyclical reporting and backup operations as required. Acts as a resource person for Store staff, resolving routine computer related problems and as a contact person for Corporate Office updating, inputting and printing reports as required.Your role:

  • Refund and monitor cash drawer amounts
  • Maintain checkout area
  • Oversee coverage of registers and store supply usage
  • Perform opening procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers and addressing issues
  • Prepares cash floats for the beginning of each shift. Takes cash skims throughout shift to minimize the amount of funds available on the floor.
    • Maintains and balances store float, ordering coin from the bank as required.
    • Records credit card transactions and complete summary reports.
    • Records and tracks cashier balancing accuracy. Flags poor performance and refers to Supervisor for follow-up.
    • Prepares and arranges for deposits to be picked up. Verifies bank report to deposit tally. Investigates and resolves discrepancies.
    • Trains cashiers assigned to the vault room in daily balancing procedures. Keeps staff informed of procedural changes.
    • Provides petty cash verifies authorization and processes the transaction.
    • Orders cash department supplies as directed.
    • Prints routine and ad hoc reports, checks for accuracy, reconciles, files/and or distributes as directed.
    • Acts as the computer contact person to both store and corporate staff. Monitors store operations to ensure compliance with computer and printer procedures. Takes action to resolve routine hardware and software problems, referring difficult situations to the Operations Manager as required. Keeps current all operation instruction and reference material.
    • Monitors Order File and Exception reports. Investigates and resolves questionable entries, referring problem situations to Operations Manager.
    • Data inputs changes and information as directed by Corporate Office.
    • Maintains various summary and audit logs sourcing information as required.
    • Arranges for routine servicing of equipment. Orders and maintains inventory levels of computer related supplies.
    The qualifications we are looking for :
    • Position requires an individual who is very detailed and accuracy oriented.
    • Position requires the ability to count and a comfort with handling and keeping track of money.
    • Position requires investigative skills to resolve balancing errors.
    • Position requires basic knowledge of computer systems.
    • Position requires excellent manual dexterity and keyboard skills to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
    • Position requires good communication and inter-personal skills to deal with computer programming personnel, other company personnel.
    • Position requires good organizational skills to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
    • Focused concentration for short periods of time is required when balancing tills.
    • Position requires close attention to detail.
  • At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • At least 1 year of retail experience as a cashier
  • At least 1 year of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
  • A minimum of 1 year of retail experience
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Minimum 6 months of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
