Job Description

Our company #39;s success is driven by our dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local area #39;s economy and sense of community.The RoleThe Operations Manager oversees terminal staff in assigning trucks, ensuring drivers know their routes, and keep track of vehicle maintenance needs. Reporting to the Director of Operations, they track shipments, liaise with customers, and check all areas of the supply chain for efficiency, all while making sure operations continue to run smoothly.To be effective in this role you will:- Supervise key terminal staff to monitor operations at all company truck terminals, ensuring workload is completed per customer expectations: efficiently, safely and compliant with all applicable regulations- Develop a best-in-class team and workplace culture, effectively manage performance and talent development and manage day to day operations, ensuring service level requirements are being met- Analyze system effectiveness and efficiency, and develop service requirements as needed- Administer and enforce the terms and conditions of service contracts- Manage and maintain the Transportation Management System (TMS) ensuring data accuracy, providing detailed reports including comprehensive system reviews- Assist in the preparation of the annual capital plan for transit improvements- Remain knowledgeable on current industry regulations, trends, and other relevant information- Develop and implement divisional standard operating procedures- Coordinate with terminal supervision at current and future locations to help maximize driver and equipment utilization across the fleet- Coordinate with company maintenance personnel and terminal supervision to keep owned/leased trucks and trailers maintained, safe, while managing associated cost- Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.Qualifications:- Bachelor #39;s degree in business administration or equivalent degree or experience- Experience in management of a trucking operation- Can work independently, troubleshoot complex systems, and possess strong customer service and excellent oral and written communication skills.- Superior customer relationship skills- Effective communication and negotiating skills (both verbal and written)- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.- Proficient in the use of Excel, MS Office, TMS and BI database tools.Salary commensurate with experience which includes a competitive health and dental benefit package.The Opportunity:The role description is just one part of the story.
