Job Description

Golden Valley SchoolNature of the workThe principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists inperforming the functions of team leader responsible for technical operations in the computer room.In this capacity, the employee must coordinate all of the work carried out by the teamCharacteristic functions:The employee in this class of employment carries out with the members of their team thecharacteristic functions of data processing operators and performs the most complicated work.Organizes, coordinates, manages and monitors the work of the team members.Sets work priorities related to computers and takes part in preparing the work listed onthe work schedule; verifies work requests and distributes programs; distributes the work andmonitors the quality and quantity of the work completed.Prepares a daily report of thecompleted work as well as the work in progress.In case of equipment breakdown or other malfunction, the employee takes the necessarymeasures designed to keep production going and to ensure that work schedules are respected.Takes part in setting up new production methods and in keeping current methods up todate.May be required to train new data processing operators and to coordinate the work ofsupport staff.If need be, performs any other related dutyRequired QualificationsSchooling and experience Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Computing Support or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority, and have seven (7) years of pertinent experience.Additional RequirementsMust be willing to Travel (Golden Valley, Val DOr Adult Education Centre, Noranda School)Working ConditionsSalary: $24.21 to $32.32 per hour (based on qualifications and experience).Application must include:Resume (including detailed work history and education background)A cover letterProfessional referencesAPPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH APPLYTOEDUCATIONhttps://westernquebec.ca/resources/careers/Only those candidates chosen for interviews will be contacted.The Western Quebec School Board is committed to building an educational community with the common purpose to realize the potential of all our students by cultivating a strong corps of support, professional, teaching and administrative excellence.
