Job Description

VodaSafe is a fast-growing company transforming the water rescue industry. Our flagship product, AquaEye®, is a handheld sonar device that helps first responders locate drowning victims faster and more effectively. As we continue to expand our product line and global reach, we are looking for a driven and hands-on Field Scientist and Product Specialist to lead field-based R amp;D and product validation initiatives.This cross-functional role spans engineering, customer success, and product development. You’ll be responsible for validating new technology, developing field applications, and uncovering opportunities to enhance the performance of our lifesaving tools.Note: This role involves frequent outdoor testing in lakes and oceans, year-round. Appropriate gear and safety measures are always provided.Job Responsibilities

  • Product validation and R amp;D:
  • Design and execute field experiments to study AquaEye’s performance under real-world conditions
  • Collaborate with our ML team to isolate performance-impacting variables and expand datasets
  • Develop custom test setups using light mechanical design and fabrication
  • Analyze device and environmental data using Python or similar tools and clearly present findings
Field applications and Training validation:
  • Bridge customer needs and product capabilities to identify and improve key applications
  • Assist in developing and validating end-user training materials
  • Support product demonstrations and troubleshoot underperformance in field settings
  • Optionally support in-person customer training and on-site deployments
Project Management Competitor Analysis Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Oceanography, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, research, product development, or related work
  • Hands-on experience with product testing, instrumentation, and data collection in real environments
  • Proven ability to design experiments and analyze multi-variable data
  • Strong technical communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with Python for data analysis
  • Comfortable working in field and marine environments year-round preferred
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with sonar systems (e.g. side scan, sector scan) or marine instrumentation
  • Experience with electromechanical systems, rugged design, or outdoor product use
  • Knowledge of materials selection, corrosion resistance, and durability in harsh environments
