Job Description

About UsReusables.com is revolutionizing food packaging with an enterprise technology solution designed for institutions like universities and hospitals. Our system replaces single-use packaging with traceable, reusable food containers, helping clients save six figures annually while improving sustainability. By enabling institutions to manage their own container programs using in-house dishwashing facilities, we eliminate the complexity and cost barriers of reusable packaging. Our technology ensures a seamless user experience, driving 98%+ return rates without requiring Reusables to own inventory. As a venture-backed, mission-driven team, we are passionate about sustainability and innovation. We are a young, female-founded company, relentlessly focused on the planet, people, and profit (in that order). We work hard and play outside harder. About the RoleReusables.com is seeking an Intermediate Full-Stack Developer to join our team. As a Full-Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our technology stack. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on backend development and DevOps, ensuring our platform remains scalable, secure, and efficient. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement new features, bug fixes, and products
  • Write and maintain technical documentation
  • Integrate third-party services such as Stripe, Google, and Twilio into our applications
  • Optimize performance and scalability of our applications
  • Actively participate in code reviews and sprint planning
  • Perform DevOps tasks to manage and deploy applications
  • Write end-to-end tests to ensure platform reliability
  • Contribute to Figma specs and become a domain expert
While this is a full-stack role, the ideal candidate will have a strong backend and DevOps focus. What You’ll Bring To The Team
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Node.js and React
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and deploying production applications on AWS
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
  • Experience integrating third-party services into applications
  • Proficiency with Git
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • High standards, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills
  • Leadership qualities and ability to take ownership in a small team environment
  • Experience maintaining legacy systems is considered an asset
Please note: This is a hybrid position with a minimum of one day working from our beautiful office in Downtown, Vancouver. Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 plus stock options package If your background doesn’t perfectly align with the qualifications listed, but you’re confident in your ability to excel in this role, we still want to hear from you! At Reusables, we value diverse experiences and unique perspectives, so don’t hesitate to apply if you believe you can make a meaningful impact. Why You’ll Love Working At Reusables

Why Join UsThe ocean already contains 165 million tonnes of plastic. By 2050, plastic in the ocean will outweigh fish. In that same year, GHG emissions associated with plastic production, use and disposal, would account for 15% of allowed emissions as per the Paris Agreement. Recycling is the current solution to single-use plastic, however only 5% of plastic is recycled in the U.S. (9% in Canada). Governments around the world are banning single-use plastics and leading businesses have made commitments to eliminate packaging waste across their product offerings by 2030. Experts have proven reusable packaging in a circular economy to be the most environmentally sustainable option. However, food businesses, our primary target market, are facing a major challenge in the adoption of reusables: the costs and complexity associated with offering reusable packaging on their own are untenable. For consumers, there currently is no mainstream option for reusable packaging. The ocean already contains 165 million tonnes of plastic, and by 2050, plastic waste could outweigh fish. While recycling is often touted as the solution, only 5% of plastic is actually recycled in the U.S. (9% in Canada). Governments and businesses worldwide are banning single-use plastics and committing to zero-waste solutions by 2030. Reusable packaging is the most sustainable alternative, but adoption has been hindered by cost and operational complexity. Reusables.com removes these barriers, offering a scalable, tech-enabled solution for food businesses. DEI StatementAt Reusables, we are building products for a diverse world, and we need a diverse team to do that successfully. We strongly encourage applications from everyone regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability status. Accessibility StatementReusables provides an accessible candidate experience. If you need any accommodations or adjustments throughout the interview process and beyond, please let us know, and we will work with you to provide the necessary support and make reasonable accommodations to facilitate your participation.
