Job Description

Reporting to the Payrollamp; Benefits Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing full-cycle Canadian payroll for a head count of approximately 1500 employees. To be successful in this role the candidate should have a high level of detail and accuracy, a passion to win and drive to be challenged, and a commitment to customer service for our best asset, our people.The Total Compensation Team is responsible for processing and maintaining full cycle, bi-weekly Canadian and US payroll for 7,500+ employees across all brands and across multiple provinces and US states (BC, AB, MB, ON, CA, WA, FL, TX). All troubleshooting related to payroll are directly handled from the department to ensure our brand is executed with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism while also ensuring timely and accurate payments.Wage Range$70,000 - $85,000 annuallyResponsibilities

  • Process Canadian full cycle bi-weekly payroll: receive data files from multiple locations, prepare files, balance and process payments using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for the Operations team.
  • Reconcile and process government and agency payments such as EHT and Worksafe
  • Respond to payroll inquiries via e-mail and phone.
  • Manage and respond to all inquiries from outside agencies and third parties.
  • Work closely with store level Office Managers and General Managers to provide information and troubleshooting when required.
  • Assist with other tasks and projects as required by the Total Compensation Team.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years #39; experience in full-cycle Canadian payroll.
  • Enrolment in the National Payroll Institute (NPI) certification program and/or are interested in obtaining certification.
  • Knowledge of working with complex HRIS payroll systems.
  • Entrepreneurial in their approach to work and takes preliminary steps to do what needs to be done without outside direction; shows genuine willingness to be held accountable for successes and failures; seeks out and engages in self-improvement.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing diverse requirements.
  • Proven aptitude for quick creative and technical thinking with acute attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of high productivity, the ability to work effectively under pressure and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive personal information.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to develop relationships with a broad mix of people through awareness of the audience and the flexibility to adapt to the environment.
  • Prior experience (at an advanced skill level) with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Has effective communication skills to work within a team setting used for brainstorming, problem solving and creation of projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Role is a full-time position, in-office.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada.
