Project Coordinator – Empowering Connections, Seniorsamp; Technology Part Time, Contract (hours per week are flexible)Location: Lower Mainland (Vancouver, North Shore, Tri-Cities, Surrey/Delta, Richmond)Compensation: $19/hr -$25/hrReports to: Team Lead, Technologyamp; Next GenerationDirect Reports: NoJoin us in our mission to change what it is to be blind in Canada.Founded in 1918, CNIB is one of Canada’s oldest charities. We #39;re looking for a mission-driven Project Coordinator – Empowering Connections, Seniorsamp; Technology who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.Your Impact at CNIB

  • Lead and manage all phases of the project according to the approved timeline.
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of 10 Senior Tech Mate volunteers.
  • Develop individualized participant training plans in collaboration with volunteers.
  • Schedule and oversee training sessions at senior residences
  • Ensure resources are accessible and available in alternate languages and formats.
  • Track progress and collect data for evaluation and final reporting.
  • Liaise with CNIB staffamp; community partners.
RequirementsWho you are:Education and Certifications
  • Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in program coordination or community engagement.
  • Education in project management, social work, community development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with seniors, newcomers, and/or people with vision loss is preferred.
  • Multilingual abilities are considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Understanding of assistive technology and accessibility principles.
  • Ability to engage with multicultural communities and multilingual environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working with data collection, reports, and evaluation metrics.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

EligibilityThis position is funded through the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) to support the Empowering Connections for Seniors through Technology, in the Lower Mainland. To be eligible to participate in this initiative, individuals must:
  • Must be 55+ years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

  • Ability to occasionally work onsite at the Westminster, BC office.
