Job Description

We are currently looking for a Project Expeditor and Logistics Coordinator to join our team. Supporting Project Managers, the Project Expeditor and Logistics Coordinator will oversee efficient management of purchase orders and movement of inbound materials and equipment pertaining to site projects. To be successful, the candidate needs to have strong computer skills, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities. Duties and Responsibilities:Expediting:

  • Collaborate with project manager, procurement teams, scheduler and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and track purchase orders, shipping schedules, and delivery timelines.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve delays, discrepancies, or quality issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of project timelines, delivery milestones, and supplier performance.
Logistics:
  • Plan, coordinate, and optimize the transportation materials and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding shipping, customs clearance, and handling.
  • Develop contingency plans for unexpected delays or logistical challenges.
  • Negotiate freight rates and select cost-effective transportation methods.
Coordination:
  • Serve as the point of contact between stakeholders, including project teams, suppliers, and logistics providers.
  • Prepare and present reports on logistics performance and project status.
  • Conduct regular status meetings to align teams and address project needs.

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role - project expediting, logistics, supply chain - preferably within the mining or construction industries
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite of programs
  • Experience with ERP Systems, such as SAP S/4 HANA and IB
  • Knowledge of Canadian import/export regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of transportation and BC Highway restrictions and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiations skills
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities
Preference given to those with:
  • Experience in Mining projects or similar industries.
  • Certification in supply chain or logistics (APICS, Six Sigma, or PMP)
  • Familiarity with international shipping and customs procedures
