We Bring Food to Your Family’s Table!Make “Another Cool Move” – Join our Family at Erb Transport!A Full-time Cold Storage Lead Hand position is available at our Cold Storage in Montreal.Shift Details: Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Hours may be variable depending on coverage of position.)Summary:Responsible for all activities related to the shipping & receiving of freight at the Cold Storage facility. Ensure that the loading schedules are met and that the required paperwork is accurate. Be the primary contact for Tomchi Cold Inc .Responsibilities:Responsible for monitoring all operational systems (inventory and transportation) within the Cold Storage facility.Generates Cold Storage invoices (Tomchi Cold Inc )Generates Cold Storge Invoices ( Erb Transport – Terminal freezer )Ensure that policies and procedures of CFIA and HACCP regulations are complied with and completed. Follow-up on any required HACCP orders.Respond to customer inquiries regarding any issues (missing orders, delays, departure date, etc.) and communicate all changes to operations.Process customer requests regarding receiving, shipping and the billing of related charges. Confirm appropriate charges are being calculated, generate and process invoices.Schedule and arrange workforce requirements according to volumes. Validate any change of work schedule with the Dock Supervisor.Responsible for inventory control / pallet and product movement i.e. manual, computer and auditing processes. Assure follow-up in the computer system. Use the racking system and help in the set-up.Trace product for customers when required.Stage orders on dock to meet shipping deadlines.Load or assist in loading appropriate freight onto delivery trucks or trailers and shrink wrap and block secure pallets when required. Ensure that appropriate bills are with skid.Complete paperwork on orders and respond to emails.Contact service provider for building or equipment maintenance. Advise the Yard and Maintenance Supervisor of any issues or problems.Verify temperatures on all loads/reefers that are pulled from or to the Montreal-Vaudreuil docking station.Ensure and verify all that Truck/LTL/Trailers respect weight limitations as per transport regulations and restrictions.Ensure that forklift checks are done at the beginning of the shift, review, and lock-out any equipment that is considered unsafe.Work in co-operation with other Cold Storage staff in solving problems.Train new employees when required.All other duties as required.Qualifications:Two (2) years of experience equivalent to the job description or in the transport/warehouse industry preferred.Experience in management of personnel, attention to detail and a team player.A positive attitude, dependable, on time for work, and respectful with clients or co-workers.Provide a high level of customer service at all times.Good understanding of safe work practices and ability to safely operate dock equipment.Ability to use a forklift (Sit-Down electric, Stand-up Reach) a plus.Knowledge of AS400, Truckmate and Abecas.Ability to lift freight and other objects up to 50 lbs.Bilingual (preferred)Ability to work in a cold environment.We Offer:Top industry wagesEarly vacation bonusWorkplace safety award programGroup benefit package, including company matched TFSA, RESP, RRSPEmployee Family Assistance ProgramReferral bonusesEmployee engagement activitiesMake “Another Cool Move”- Join our family of essential workers at Erb Transport!Contact us 1-800-461-5299 or Recruiting@erbgroup.comCompany website: www.erbgroup.comNamed by Trucking HR Canada as Top Fleet Employers for seven consecutive years, and Best Fleets to Drive For (2021) through Truckload Carriers Association, we have grown significantly since our induction in 1959 and have become one of Canada’s largest family-owned refrigerated trucking companies.
