Job Description

Celebrating 62 years of BusinessWe Bring Food to Your Family’s Table!We are now hiring a Full-time Dock Loader for our Montreal, terminal!Shift: Monday - Friday 15:00pm - 23:00pmResponsibilities:

  • Fully understand Erb Transport’s handling of freight on the Montreal dock. Understand duties of both Dock Loaders and Dock Receivers.
  • Load straight-trucks as well as trailers destined for specific locations, while avoiding damages by ensuring equipment is set at correct temperatures.
  • Judging freight volumes for trailers, cubing, re weighing and additional reporting as needed.
  • Set up dock floor and line up freight so that orders can be found efficiently and accurately.
  • Read and cross-reference freight bills to match with actual products according to manifests. Ensure trucks are loaded according to legal weights and space allotted for the product.
  • Operate pallet-jack and forklift in a safe manner. Inform appropriate personnel of any equipment requiring repairs and/or follow-up.
  • All other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 years of forklift experience.
  • Knowledge of Erb’s systems and operations is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a cold, refrigerated environment for up to 8 hours is necessary.
  • Must be able to list up to 70lbs.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Positive communication skills as it pertains to interacting with dock staff, operations, and drivers.
  • Safety-conscious mind-set.
  • Overtime may be required from time to time
  • Bilingual French & English
