Job Description

Location: This position is based in Hawkesbury, ON for work in Eastern Ontario and Western QuebecThe OpportunityWe are looking for a strong electrical construction project manager / estimator with 7 to 10 years relevant Quebec and/ or Ontario experience with an electrical contracting firm who is looking to grow his career to a mid to senior management role capacity. For the right candidate who demonstrates loyalty, motivation and active involvement in the companys operations, there is a possibility of share ownership in the future. Demonstrated electrical estimating and project management experience in projects ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000.The RoleLeading the execution team to successful project delivery including preparing full electrical cost estimates, project schedules and managing tasks and budget for each project assigned to him/her.Candidate ProfileThe preferred candidate will have the following profile:

  • Fluent in English and French
  • Have 7-10 years experience in estimating and project management of electrical construction projects in the commercial, industrial and institutional and water/waste water construction sectors in the Canadian market.
  • Current and up to date knowledge of Ontario and/or Quebec electrical code is required.
  • Have held positions with larger electrical contractors ($5mm plus in sales)
  • Is customer service oriented
  • Holding a professional degree (ie. P.Eng, CET or GSC) would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, emails and estimating software
  • Knowledge of local construction market (competitors, suppliers, owners) - local being defined as the Greater Vaudreuil and Greater Ottawa area including local municipalities within a 2-hour radius
  • Prior field experience would be an asset
  • Excellent people skills
  • Capable of motivating a team of workers
  • Have the desire and will to move up and grow career in managerial capacity
