The maintenance teams are the people we depend on to ensure that our equipment is kept in first-rate condition to meet our customers’ requirements.TransX has an exciting opportunity for a Shop Foreman in our Montreal Maintenance facility.Shift: Monday to Thursday; 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Shop Foreman is responsible for;Coordinate and monitor daily resource requirementsEnsure maximum productivity and utilization of technicians, shop facilities, tools & equipment, and materialsWork on scheduled preventive maintenance targetsAssist technicians as needed to reach the optimum skillsetWork on the successful delivery of customer service excellence in a cost-efficient mannerCommunicate with the terminal and all divisions on the equipment repairs, via phone and email.This position will be 70% working and 30% administrative duties.The candidate will have a strong mechanical background; he or she will need to hook up to the trucks with the laptop for diagnosing.QualificationsThe successful candidate must be a strong team player, with the ability to lead a team of service-oriented technicians and have the following:Requirements:Licensed Technician (Heavy Duty, Trailer or Reefer Technician)Valid Driver’s licenseMinimum of 3 years experience (preferably in a supervisory role)Desired skills and abilities:Strong passion for customer serviceWell developed problem solving and critical reasoning skillsA working understanding of business management Best Practices and Lean tools and techniquesAbility to take initiative and action quicklyAbility to manage multiple prioritiesA solid understanding of truck mechanical systemsDemonstrated coaching and mentoring skillsProficient in the use of the Microsoft Office programsThe RewardsWe offer competitive comprehensive compensation and benefits program.
