Job Description

Celebrating 63 years of BusinessWe Bring Food to Your Family’s Table!A full-time Shunter Floater& Yard/ Wash bay attendant position is available at our Montreal location.Shift: Monday – Friday various shiftResponsibilities:

  • Move trailers in and out of dock via radio/phone and maintain yard organization
  • Top up reefer fuel on trailers
  • Ensure reefers are set at the right temperature (Dual Temps, different zones)
  • Organize trailer line-ups as required
  • Check oil in shunt trucks, and perform other designated mechanical checks on trucks and trailers
  • Report mechanical defects on trucks and trailers to appropriate supervisor
  • Assist in various operations of snow removal at all facilities (loader, pick-up/salt spreader, etc.) and clear walkways, entrances/exits and between vehicles during the winter months
  • Provide maintenance support to terminal including grounds-keeping and waste management.
  • Connect vehicles to power supply in colder temperatures
  • Understand and comply with all company Occupational Safety and Health regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Complete daily reports and submit to supervisor
  • Wash company trucks as needed
  • Wash & sanitize outside carriers trailers as needed
  • Following schedule, complete mileage report for all straight trucks, and perform visual checks in yard
  • Assist other departments and complete other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum (1) year previous experience shunting trucks, completing yard repairs preferred
  • Preferred Class 1 or 3 license
  • Strong organization and time management skills required
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position (climb ladders, lift up to 50lbs, shovel snow)
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Ability to work alone
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, snow, etc.)
  • Experience using computers and MS office required
  • Must have own tools in good working order.
