Job Description

COMPANY DESCRIPTIONEstablished in 1979, Toro Aluminum has become a leader in the development and manufacturing of window walls and doors for high-rise condominiums, office buildings and hotels, across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.REPORTINGThe AutoCAD Technician reports directly to a Job Captain, Drafting at Toro Aluminum Railings.RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and prepare railing drawings from trade drawings (architectural, structural, precast, electrical, mechanical, safety anchor system for window cleaning and maintenance drawings), specifications and engineering data.
  • Operate computer assisted design (CAD) software, in order to design, prepare and produce detailed drawings per contract documents and specifications.
  • Partner with Senior AutoCAD Technicians for ensuring that the proper inputs are attained to create the shop drawings as directed.
  • Participate in the drafting meetings for reviewing the project(s) assigned, regarding the timeline and drafting issues with the generation of shop drawings.
  • Develop and prepare design sketches for proposals, request for instructions (RFIs) and revisions in progress as required.
  • Independently carry-on communication with internal stake holders regarding the window wall scope of work (or questions arising) for the project(s) assigned.
  • Organize and maintain the CAD digital files for the projects in the respective folders.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • College Diploma in Architectural Technology
  • 1-3 years of experience producing technical drawings,
  • Fenestration Industry experience is a strong asset
  • Strong ability to work with AutoCAD.
  • Revit knowledge is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Possess exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, and in meeting timeline milestones.
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
