Job Description

Job Location:VaughanState/Province:OntarioThe CAD Technician is responsible for the creation of Municipal consent or utility application drawings from concept to final design, drawn to scale, suitably detailed to convey the necessary information required for permit approval.This is currently a Hybrid work opportunity (combination of in-office and remote work).Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with Project Managers and Team leads to provide quality drawings.
  • Create CAD drawings from concept to final design, drawn to scale, suitably detailed to convey the necessary information required for approval. This includes but is not limited to MC Plans, Hydro Utility plans and construction drawings.
  • Complete drawings within prescribed time limit.
  • Check and correct any mistakes within any drawings.
  • Follow drawing standard and printing procedures as set out by the client.
  • Abilities in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.
  • Create new and innovative methods to improve the quality of company’s drawings and the drawing process.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year of AutoCAD drafting experience
  • Must be Proficient with AutoCAD Version 2016 or higher.
  • Comfortable using Paper Space / Model Space.
  • Post-secondary education in CADD, Civil Engineering, Electrical or Architectural program is preferred.
  • 1 -2 Years Experience in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering and Field Experience Environment an asset
  • Experience Reading or producing municipal, engineering and/or electrical drawings is an asset.
  • Customizing Auto Cad - Create Menu files with Tool Bars which function with Auto Lisp programs. Is an asset.
  • Create AutoCAD scripts files for repeated tasks. Is an asset.
  • Read Data from Excel or Csv files through Auto Lisp and create drawings or fill AutoCAD Blocks and attributes with extracted data. Is an asset.
