OverviewTo provide technical support, expertise and leadership in the area of costuming and costume maintenance to the show programs and to assist in the technical preparation and operation of all assigned equipment, costumes, and supplies. The Creative Area Supervisor will also work closely with other departments to create décor for any festivals events or necessities for the park.This position pays $16.65 per hour.QualificationsMust pass all interview requirementsCreative Area Supervisor should be currently enrolled in or preferably a graduate of a post-secondary program that includes a specialty in theatrical wardrobe, costuming or fashion. Experience in Properties and scenic paint is an assetCreative Area Supervisor should have an understanding of all costume and wardrobe equipment. More specifically: sewing machines, Industrial and home, sergers, irons, steamers, laundry, and maintenance equipmentA good working knowledge of adhesives will assist in character costume maintenance. A knowledge and understanding of fabrics and fabric care is also requiredThe candidate should have proven leadership and people management skillsAble to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely (may include; gloves, mask and/or face shield, non-slip shoes etc)Previous Park experience is an assetResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain unique costumes in collaboration with department management for Entertainment show and event productionsAlter and maintaining costume pieces for co-productions and contracted performancesBuild or purchase small show properties, coordinate with Creative Services for additional larger propertiesMaintain costume character pieces to a high standard of appearance by completing regular inventory, maintenance, and laundering; work with Children’s Program team to ensure pieces are treated with careCoordinate the purchasing and buying of all required costume pieces, fabrics, accessories, organizational materials, etc.; track expenses and adhere to operating budgets as set out by managementTroubleshoot costume-related problems to maintain show quality at the discretion of ManagementMaintain all costume-related elements as set during the rehearsal periodTake proper care of all assigned equipment and before each use ensure that the equipment operates safely by conducting daily safety checks and report any damages, malfunctions, and irregularities to Management.Complete required equipment maintenance or coordinate repairs internally and externally
