OverviewTo provide technical support, expertise and leadership in the area of costuming and costume maintenance to the assigned show or program and to assist in the technical preparation and operation of all assigned equipment, costumes, and supplies. The creative Supervisor will also work closely with other departments to create décor for any festivals events or necessities for the park. This posiiton pays $16.25 per hour.QualificationsMust pass all interview requirementsCreative Supervisor should be currently enrolled in or preferably a graduate of a post-secondary program that includes a specialty in theatrical wardrobe, costuming or fashion. Experience in Properties and scenic paint is an assetCreative Supervisor should have an understanding of all costume and wardrobe equipment. More specifically: sewing machines, Industrial and home, sergers, irons, steamers, laundry, and maintenance equipmentA good working knowledge of adhesives will assist in character costume maintenance. A knowledge and understanding of fabrics and fabric care is also requiredThe candidate should have proven leadership and people management skillsAble to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely (may include; gloves, mask and/or face shield, non-slip shoes etc)Previous Park experience is an assetResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain all costumes at the highest level within Wonderland Theatre, Children’s Programs and Operations show programsTroubleshoot costume-related problems to maintain show quality at the discretion of ManagementMaintain all costume-related elements as set during the rehearsal period. Take proper care of all assigned equipment and before each use ensure that the equipment operates safely. If a piece of equipment requires maintenance or repair notify the Supervisors immediatelyLearn and master all assigned equipment, its operation and maintenance procedures. Conduct daily safety checks and report any damages, malfunctions, and irregularities to ManagementMaintain an inventory of equipment, equipment accessories as well as fabrics, fabric accessories, sewing equipment and any other assigned items. Report any shortages to Management immediatelyCo-ordinate any work to be done by the costumers including their supervision dailyAny purchasing of fabrics and materials requiredEnsure that all costumers are treated fairly and acquire a good working experience. Ensure effective communication between costumers and Supervisors. Provide or facilitate training to costumers throughout the season as requiredAlways maintain a positive rapport with all guests and employees in the Park, whether it is during a performance, or during a personal encounter while on Park property.Abide by all Canada’s Wonderland policies and procedures as set out by the Park and the Entertainment Department. Specific policies and procedures are outlined in the Park associate and facility handbooksEnsure that all safety standards and practices are metPerform all duties as assigned by Entertainment Management. Daily duties will include the cleaning of the break room, associated backstage areas, and maintenance of equipment, clean up rehearsals, meetings and “Notes” sessionsUse all means at his/her disposal to promote a positive spirit of unity within the departmentAssist with other duties as required
