Start your journey with Sodexo, as we continue to grow across Canada!Job DescriptionHow You’ll Make an Impact:The Food Service Supervisor/Diet Technician is responsible for organizing and supervising food and nutrition function and staff within the assigned site for the assigned shift. The incumbent is responsible to ensure adherence to service levels, sanitation and food service expectations as well as ensuring appropriate staffing levels and assigning tasks.Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervises staff and overall operations ensuring workflows are efficient, staff are providing appropriate levels of service per the client agreement and that productivity and other standards are being adhered to. Provides coaching, training (including remedial training), direction and performance management to employees as required ensuring alignment with the Collective Agreement.
  • Creates and maintains work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing related to business needs, client requirements and to maintain key performance indicators.
  • Visits patients to review diet concerns, supplement acceptance, diet discrepancies, confirm allergy concerns and follow up on Registered Dietician referrals making sure to appropriately document and verify information appropriately
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels for supplies to ensure smooth meal services. Carefully prepares and reviews all set ups for daily functions and meal services.
  • Provides feedback and assists with staffing related to front line positions including making recommendations on staffing, interviewing candidates as required.
QualificationsWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Completion of Food and Nutrition program as recognized by college.
  • Active member of CSNM, Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.
  • 2-3 years of Supervisory experience preferably in Acute Care setting.
  • 2 years of working experience as a Diet Tech using CBORD & EPIC.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as requirement to interact with patients and their families in a respectful and professional manner (including de-escalating concerns, and dealing with problems or complaints)
  • Prior experience managing in a Unionized environment, preferably within healthcare or long term care.
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented
