Job Description

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Planner with a passion for planning and land development,experience interpreting land use legislation and policy, working collaboratively with a variety of public andprivate stakeholders and an ability to build strong professional relationships. The intermediate planner willtake a lead role in completing due diligence and feasibility analysis on properties throughout the GTHA andwill manage and coordinate planning applications and approvals. Successful candidates should have a driveto succeed and a desire to learn the business with a can-do attitude.Responsibilities & RequirementsThe Intermediate Planner will be responsible to provide comprehensive support and project managementfor a variety of complex land use planning files and must have:

  • Understanding of relevant provincial policies, legislation and guidelines;
  • A strong understanding of local planning issues throughout the GTHA;
  • Awareness of and ability to navigate the development approvals process in Ontario;
  • Experience conducting comprehensive feasibility analysis and due diligence reviews of land;
  • Ability to manage files independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other planners, consultants and stakeholders;
  • Strong communication, analytic and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to speak in public settings (e.g. public meetings, Council)
  • Experience within a land development firm or private consulting practice (preferred);
